INTRODUCTION:

In social structure women’s participation is required to equate the male. Both creation and management of world care impossible without women. Motherhood of women is like a boon to nature. In our membership and culture, women have been treated as goddesses. In our veda, purana, scriptures all women are given equal statures. The whole environment of family depends on its behaviour. The sacrament provided by the mother to her children in childhood becomes a guiding light throughout her life. Mother jijabai also trained and motivated shivaji and became an independent warrior. The uplifement of women. Today, we can see women to become independent in the modern age. Women today attain the same status as men.

Yet men are more dominant in Indian society. After marriage the women becomes fully enslaved. Women in every field have been shown as suburban. For example, Art, Litrature, house, family, theatres etc. Within Indian society the development of women is less than that of men.

Problems of women:

Just as the cycle of time revolves, so too does society change. In the middle ages, the situation of women was made wores by foreign invasions. The women were kept in the veil and stopped teaching them. They were oppressed marriages of widows became possible. Many marriages became polygamous marriage. Women have become the object of entertainment and pleasure. Even if efforts were made to improve by some social reformers, women became victims of ignorance, backwardness etc. The condition of women in society has become pathetic. She was not paid the same amount of work as man. Female violence is also a very big problem. The main reason is that they are subject to men. As a result they have to suffer rape. In the Indian film world too, women have been portrayed in a more negative way, which has led to female satisfaction as a medium of happiness.

In india, our ancestors did not allow women to become independent in any way which led to the introduction of dowry in india. Woem faced a lot of problems after a marriage because of dowry. Because of this , he sometimes seems to have no choice but to leave home or commit suicide. In 1961, taking or giving dowry was considered a crime, yet it is still practiced in the society. 5000 deaths per year in the country are due to dowry Kothari commission 1966 female education has been considered more essential for the complete development of human resources for the betterment of the family and for the production of children’s character during the dominat years of child development. As women are educated, individual society and nation also develop Kiranbedi tells that “Women become educated become knowledgeable, not only does literacy have nothing to do within society but also their mentality needs to change”. Lake of education can make a women’s life crippled. Women earn a job are self reliant, have a high position in society. The only job is to solve a serious problem like dowry. Because the woman becomes self reliant, it provides financial security. If we want to develop ours and our society and our country, then women have to grow as well women have to be given the same rights as men.

Efforts to solve female problems:

The time of ancient times was when women were considered to be infants but this is not the case. Women are becoming stronger in the present.

In terms of empowerment Swami Vivekanda says “unless the status of women for the welfare of the world improves there will be no opportunity for development. It becomes impossible for any bird to fly with one wing”. Something similar has happened in our Indian society. And that is why the issue of empowering women has attracted world wide attention.

In order to improve the status of women, some laws have been enacted by the government of India to empower women.

1.     Constitutional rights of women:

The constitution of India provides for the equality of status and opportunity for women. Special provisions have been made for women through the provisions of the constitution. Women have been given constitutional rights. In which to live life, getting married as an adult, to marry by self-selection, getting divorce, to remarry to inherit from the property of the husband or father, get free legal aid to vulnerable women, to stay away from the husband to escape persecution, gaining exclusive rights through reserved seats in the education profession and politics etc.

Abortion law –1971– for protect the lives and dignity of woman.

A law prohibiting nasty performance– 1986– protect women against public humiliation.

Family violence prevention law – 2005 – protecting women against domestic vilence.

Sexual harssement detention law of women in the work place – 2013.

All this law promote women’s empowerment by protecting women from harmsful status.
